20 Jul 2008 - New Rules

On June 29th, after some long discussions and work by the Chairman and Secretary, a set of proposed new rules were drawn up, using NSALG model rules as a start point, and voted for at a Special General Meeting. these rules were unanimously voted in.

the rule change has become necessary to apply for Awards 4 All grants from the National Lottery, as we have a number of projects in the pipelines, but have no funding available due to our "division of profits" and "dissolusion" clauses.

We have used th NSALG model rules, as they were up to date with legislation, (unlike our existing rules which were drawn up in 1955), but amended them for our own situation.

The rules were sent to the FSA, and apart from a mistype which was amended, the Rules were registered within 2 weeks.

It was a fairly painless thing to do in the end, and the results we hope will be fairly immediate, as we have applied for a grant for 50% of the cost of Solar PV electrics, and we already have matched funding for the remaining 50%.

If you want National Lottery Money, i would advise making sure your rules are up to date.

It's not as daunting as you may imagine.
